Back to blogger.com. LaTeX support can’t make up for the fact that it’s impossible to display Haskell source code on wordpress (it strips out backslahes from inside PREformatted text). And wordpress.com makes silent edits to your HTML source (eg. discarding line breaks and discarding anything it thinks is an erroneous HTML tag including any text you accidentally type after a less than symbol). I did try using CODE tags for the Haskell soyrce but that loses formatting. I tried NBSP characters to stop the formatting being removed but that (1) makes the source unreadable and (2) results in unicode characters that can’t be compiled by GHC if you copy and paste from my blog.

Why not start your own blog on your own server, use WordPress, use one of the many LaTeX plugins and a sensible code-snippet plugin? Hosting isn’t expensive these days.
I’d love to run my own server again, I used to years ago. But I think people underestimate how much work is involved. Even those people who are currently maintaining their own servers don’t realise how much time they are spending on them. For example, you can wake up one day and find emails saying that people can’t connect to it. That can take days to figure out including emails to your internet provider or trying to decode the cryptic format used by your firewall. And when you do solve the problem, the knowledge you have gained from it is often non-reusable, if you see what I mean. So I’d rather spend the time doing interesting stuff (even if a little is wasted on HTML formatting).
I’d offer you webspace at my homerolled server; though I can in no way guarantee the kind of uptime you’ll get from blogger or wordpress.
